There are some good news regarding reporting of Tax Liens. How creditable? It’s up to you to decide. But I would say, file a dispute citing their recent reporting policy changes and see what happens, if you don’t want to wait.

On March 23rd. WallStreet Journal published article saying, all current tax liens will be removed from all three Credit Bureaus and will not be adding any new ones.

From Experian, I saw a screen shot of email to their client, dated March 19th, saying they will be remove all “remaining” tax liens on week of April 16th.

From TU, it says  “... to ensure the compliance of enhanced reporting standards of National Consumer Assistant Plan and to resolve pending litigation. All Tax Liens will be removed from Consumer credit reports week of April 16th 2018. We are advised that Experian and Equifax have also decided ceases reporting data liens and will take similar action on April 2018...”

Once liens have been paid in full you must file the forms yourself in probate court to have them taken off your credit report. Been there done that.
