What would cause a 16 point drop?
Nothing has changed in my financial situation. Was cruising along most of the year at about the same number, then a big drop July to August. I can't find anything on Credit Karma that would indicate why the change

A 16 point drop is normally reflective of a substantial increase in utilization or a new account opening.   It could also have been an older account which no longer appears on your credit report.   You will want to look more closely at the details of the credit report and compare it to a prior report.
