What to do about credit fraud?
There is a fraudulent account on my credit report, have filed a police report, contacted the collection agency, and contacted the original creditor.

You need to file disputes with the credit bureaus that are reporting this account, also.  Check all three credit reports.  The topic is covered in the articles here.

Under the FDCPA (fair debt collection practices act) you can sue a debt collector for placing collection accounts on your credit reports that do not belong to you. Print everything for records and contact a consumer law attorney that handles FDCPA cases.
