what is the higest credit score and is it possible to get a score of over 800?

Yes, it is possible for it wouldn't be

Credit scores are based on algoritiums.  These are based on the law of averages. Sores take into account how you have managed your money over a period of time. and how you can be expected to handle things in the future. 

To get scores over 800 generally requires a perfect credit history of at least 10 years.  No missed payments, never exceed limits, no derogitory remarks. etc. etc. 

The only person that I have met that had a score near 850 was my grandfather whose credit history was 60 years long.  His oldest accounts were nearly 50 years old.  

So, it's not impossible, it just takes time and good money management.  If your score is above 659, then you are doing better than the average american.
