What if my son's student loan is "100,00.00
He thought that he was going to get married soon after college. He had one semester to complete. He was engaged. He had plans to take Professor's position. He found out that week that the particular position was going to be eliminated. His car tore up and he had a nervous breakdown. He had to live with us for a while just to quit shaking constantly.

It would depend on if it is a Federal student loan or a private one on how long this will affect him. Federal debt will always remain, but private loans don't. If he is deemed disabled by the state then there may be loan forgiveness with federal loans. I believe that there is some other types of loan forgiveness out there but I am not knowledgable in that area, so you will have to do some google searching for more answers.
