It means you have applied for credit (CC, loan, etc) or a product that requires a credit review for approval (cell phone, utilities, for example). Sometimes these are reviews you initiate and other times their reviews done on your behalf, such as periodic credit card company review for interest rate changes. You can't really do anything about these, with exception of not applying for anything requiring credit. They have a low impact on your score will fall off in a year or two.
