What can I do if a creditor misapplied my payment leading to a derogatory mark on my credit report?
I have two accounts with a creditor, I was sending payments not knowing I had two different account numbers. The creditor received my payments and failed to apply them accordingly, leading to one account being reported as 30 days late. They sent me a statement indicating I was current (one account paid in full) only to find out later I was delinquent on the second.
