We you advise me to keep credit card accounts open or close them with the company for a better score
is it better to close credit card accounts or leave them open even if i dont plan on using them?

Keep them open.

The reason is, you will show "available credit" which is very good.  Also, these accounts will continue to "age" and the age of credit accounts is a good point on credit score.

You may wish to use these cards a little bit in the future as long as you can pay them in full every month. or you may decide to go for better rate cards.  This available credit can be a big help in case of an emergency. The cards you currently have may, if not used, eventually be closed by the issuer and that can have a bit of negative impact due to reduction of available credit.
