I would freeze my credit.  Visit each bureau's website and for a nominal fee you can put a permanent freeze on your credit.  They will issue you a PIN number (a different one for each bureau) and when you need to apply for credit, go online (or on the phone) and use your PIN number to "thaw" your credit for 30 days.  It automatically re-freezes after 30 days.  That way, only YOU can apply for credit, even if someone has all your personal info.  I did it years ago and it's really cheap and easy peace of mind.
