trying to figure out when a payment is due.
payments are due on the 1st. statement cycle ends on 11/04/16. if i make a purchase on the 5th, is it due 12/01/16 or 1/01/17?

If you make purchase on Nov. 5th the day after the statement cycle closed? Then its due on 1/1/2017, it's so called the "grace perirod" majority of credit cards have it... if you are micro managing your utilizations and don't want it to be reported to affect your credit scores? Pay it off before Dec. 4th.

First, read the articles here.  Then make it a practice to pay your bill in full (total amount due as shown on the statement) by the due date.  It is as simple as that.
