You can't permanently take something off your credit history if it's accurate information. If there is an old account that should have aged and fallen off by now, or if there is an account on your report that is not yours (possible identity theft) you can dispute it with the credit bureaus that are reporting it. They will generally take a couple weeks to investigate, and if they find that something shouldn't be there they will remove it. 
If it's something you would like removed just because it's lowering your score, that's not going to happen.
