Syncrony bank - previously known as GE Capital is a major retailer usage card.  Many stores use this bank to process credit card transactions.  If you are contacted by a creditor about payment and the account is not yours, just simply tell them it is not your bill, you never had an account with that store and request that they validate the information.  Many times, an overzealous collection agent is not concerned with accuracy and do a massive search for names as a means to reach the original debtor. Do NOT give anyone your personal information in dealing with a creditor of any nature even if the debt is yours.

Dispute the debt if it is not yours.  I have synchrony bank for my dental needs.   If your going to dispute the debt, make sure you do it in writing so you have a paper trail.  Also, certified mail return receipt requested is ideal.  It proves you sent the letter and also proves the addressee received it.  They have 30 days to validate the debt.
