Never give anyone information over the phone, there are many scammers out there. If they call again, tell them not to contact you again, and that is ALL that you say. If you start to be harassed, then contact the police or a consumer law attorney that handles FDCPA cases.

If they call again, contact the consumer affairs division of your state's attorney general's office and file a complaint.  The statute of limitations on the check has long expired and this is an uncollectable debt.  Having Caller ID sure makes life easier for me because I do not answer the phone if the call is from someone I do not know.
