Should I go for it? - capital one quicksilver
Here's a little background. I am 24 years old. Started off on credit karma with a incredibly horrible credit score due to my mom opening several accounts in my name and allowing them to default without me knowing. I have disputed all accounts and most have been removed from my credit report. But not much of an increase to my score. In Oct 14 I was approved for the First Premier Secured card (Yay! My very first card). But like an idiot, I went to NYC for New Years and maxed out the card. Didn't take paying off the card serious and it closed. Since then I have been trying to make payment arrangements for a pay for delete but the CA is not replying to any letters. Should I try to get a paid in full? Or allow it to remain in collections? After that lesson, I took the recommendation from CK and was approved for the Capital one plantium card with a credit limit of $300. I was entered into the credit steps program and received a cli to $500 last weekend! I also applied and was approved for a Victoria Secret cl $300 and Simply Be cl $250. I used the shopping card trick so there's no hard inquiries for these store cards. They should arrive soon! I also applied for a JCPenny store card online which was a hard inquiry but the decision will be coming by mail. Now today I received a prequalification letter for the Capital One QuickSilver but my CK score is between 500-520. My FICO scores are EQ 587 TU 598 EX 578. I'm still waiting on the JCPenny decision so I'd rather not have two wasted inquiries if I am denied. Do you think I have a realistic approval odds or am I pushing luck? I also got an invitation for Discover It but I'm passing on that card.
