You really needto learn how credit actually works by readidng the articles here.  I have degrees in accounting and business and learned more here than from the college casses because I knokw that learning stops only on the day one dies. Once aa debt is sold to a collection agency, the original creditor no longer wants it.  They sold it because it wasn't getting paid.  And each debt is separate, and has its own Statute of Limitations.  Don't understand that?  It's covered very well in the articles.
