Should I close my old credit card?
I am applying for a mortgage (first time) and I just joined Credit Karma to see what my credit looks like. I just discoverd I have an Ann Taylor credit card with a $250 limit. It's never been used. It's been open since 2009 and it is my oldest credit card. I never knew I had it. I must have thrown it away thinking it was junk mail. Should I close it or should I keep it open while I am shopping for a mortgage so I can artificially inflate my credit limit and keep my utilization below 30%?
