Score went down when it was supposed to build credit.
Paid off all my dedt over 15 years ago.no c.c.since.have to start all over which I am with fingerhut fresh start.successfully completed that.credit limit went up but my score went down 16 points. Confused. Supposed to be building???

Short term damage will usually occur when building credit. You need more than a fingerhut account. Try to get a Secured credit card from a regular bank like Capital One or another lender that reports to all three credit bureaus. Once you develop FICO scores if you haven't yet, start following them, don't worry about the Vantage scores you get here.
