If you only have two months of payments left I would try to get it paid to the new bank before they list the account on your reports. Explain to them that you do not want it listed on your credit reports as that would ding your scores even further. The account would've closed anyway in two months and your scores would've taken a hit then anyway, this just moved the process up a couple of months. It is normal for scores to decrease when closing accounts.
