If yoour credit limit goes up, then your score should go up.  Since only you can see your credit information, it is up to you to discover what may have dropped your score because it wasn't the credit line increase.  .The articles here can help give you the knowledge you need to find what happened.

And if you charged $3000, that increases your debt to income ratio, increases your utilization. That would make your score drop.
