Repairing Credit
I am 24 and my credit is horrible. Last year I filed for bankruptcy and had my car repossessed. I also have several delinquent, late, and charged off accounts on my report. I was out of work for a year from a surgery and ran up my 4 credit cards paying rent and utilities. My score went from 780 to 460 in no time. Now I just feel like I will never get my credit back up. I know that it takes up to 10 years for the bankruptcy to fall off and around 7 years for each negative hit to be removed, but what should I do in the meantime to repair this? Should I try to repay all of the debt that is negatively reporting on my account, or let them be? Should I get a secured credit card and make on time payments and keep the balance below 30% of my limit? Those were suggestions, but I am unsure as to what method would be the most beneficial to me.
