You can send the company reporting the negative account with a zero balance a "goodwill letter" asking them to kindly remove the account from your reports, it works every now and then and if you get told no, keep trying. Just for future reference it is always best to negotiate a "pay for delete agreement" PRIOR to paying off old debt. (sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't). Or if there is anything inaccurate about the account listed on your reports, you could dispute the inaccurate information and hope for a complete deletion of the account rather than a correction.
