removing accounts
How long does a report stay on my record? I have some opened in 2005 and closed in 2009. Still on there after 6 years.

Most negative accounts remain on your reports for 7 years. Accounts closed in good standing remain for 10 years and sometimes longer. Never try to remove accounts that were closed in good standing, you would cause significant damage to your credit profile/scores. For negative accounts, look up EARLY EXCLUSION and learn how to get them removed just a little early.
