quickest way to get rid of derogatory remarks
If I pay the holder of the derogatory remark. I send proof of payment to the credit bureau will the derogatory remark be removed?

The concept of 'pay for delete' to get derogatories off credit reports is explained in the articles on this site.  It involves negotiation, which involves letter writing over a few weeks time, and there is no guarantee of success.  But, if you don't try, it won't get deleted.

Paid in itself isn't ground/reason for removal. Paid and unpaid derogatory/collections/charge-offs have same reportable length of 7 1/2 years, except in New York, where the paid collection last only 5 years.
