putting name on husbands credit card will my thin credit file lower his???

If you mean your husband will be adding you as an authorized user on his already established credit cards, then no your "thin file" will not harm his credit.

It should give you a boost in your score, because you will get the benefit of his AAoA, payment history, and credit utilization. Once the cards start showing on your credit report and you notice the increase in your score I recommend that you apply for your own cards so you can build your own stable history.

You can apply for secured cards or do a secured personal loan for as little as $200. If you make your payments on time you will see a rise in your score in 3 to 6 months and depending on the card you may get a CLI
