Public records VS collections?
Which one hurts our scores more? We need to trade our vehicle in on something newer and they said we would likely be approved if our public records were off the reports. But I've read on other sites that it can actually hurt to delete them because your credit history is shortened then. So which do I work on paying off first, collections or public records??

Have you read what is on THIS site, which is specifically here to teach people how credit works and how to build a good credit score?  Responsible people strive to never have any debt go into collections or become public records, which is even worse.  Read the articles here and get your debts straightened out. Otherwise, you will pay more in interest and not be able to get loans because of the poor payment history.
