Proper way to use a credit card?
ok, I went with my wife to get pre approved for a home loan. Our credit came back and needs some work. The loan officer told us to take a couple credit cards, buy something, wait for it to post then pay it in full right away. I asked if she meant wait for the statement and due date for the bill, she said no and to use it on something small then pay it off right away and it should build our credit up enough to get the loan within a few months. My question is, does anyone have proof this works or does this even work? I really need help on this because i do not want to waste my money and time if its not even going to raise my credit this way. (I am only going to use my card for gas then pay it off since thats something i need weekly anyway)
