Our chapter 13 bankruptcy was discharged over a year ago.
Does that stay on our credit rating for 7 years from the date of our filing or the date of our discharge?

Yes it does.  But a Chapter 13 is less damaging than a Chapter 7 because it is also known as "The Wage-earner's Repayment Plan" and indicates a desire to get debts resolved in a structered repayment plan.  Chapter 7 is "can't pay my debts, period."
