One collection agency with two different amounts listed for the same debt
The collection agency (Asset Recovery) has two different debt amounts ($180 and $252) listed for the same debt I have with Maine Orthotic Prosthetic. How can that be?

If you are sure that it is the SAME debt, then they are violating your rights and you should dispute this with the credit bureaus or consult an attorney that handles FDCPA cases. (fair debt collection practices act). I highly recommend Kimmel & Silverman law firm if they practice in your state. Do some reading on the FDCPA to learn more about what debt collectors cannot do.
