New collection, I believe is 5 years old
I checked my credit today & while my score is going up it appears I have a "new" $3500 medical collection on there. The problem is, I haven't lived in that city for 5 years and it looks like the former creditor was the hospital and now a collection agency bought it. Is this potential zombie debt? I know it hasn't been 7 years but can they just start reporting this on my credit 5 years later as new? I've been so good for the past 4 years, things have been turning around. I'm very disheartened, what can I do?
