Depends on score

On the assumption we're talking more than trivial shift, and in general and not some random other change which simply occurred between updates:

Can't speak to Vantage or other scores, but FICO anyway sorts people into buckets (scorecards) where you're compared against similar files for credit scoring purposes.  Sorted into a scorecard, then everything else applies to generate your score.

For those of us in a dirty bucket, we're scored against similar people with negative marks on their file; however, if suddenly we get clean we're now scored against peopkle in a clean bucket, and the score ranges might overlap between buckets.  As a result, if we were at the top of a dirty bucket, and are now at the bottom of the clean bucket, we can get a temporary drop if our credit history doesn't match up against those with clean files.

That said, getting any negative off regardless of immediate score shift is HUGE as it removes the limit on your score... and under modern scores, it just doesn't take that long to generate a good score if you're clean; if you're not clean, and I've been working on this since late 2011 and don't get clean till Dec 2017, it will depress your score for a good long while.
