My daughter has added me as a signer on her checking account. Will her screw ups effect my rating?

The potentials are there, tho I'm not sure what "signer" means exactly in the legal terms or what "screw ups" entails. However, if she overdrawn on the checking account? Then any outstanding balance/fee can and often do go to collection, that can affect your own credit. If she write bad checks? Then the Creditors might go after you for any unpaid balance by suing you for it, that of course can affect your own credit, or worse, both of you might be criminally charged. That account's activities might go onto the Chexsystems, which might affect your own Bank accounts or your ability to open any checking/saving accounts in the future.

Nope.  No problem at all.  A credit card or loan would be a different matter.  THAT could have an effect on your score.

This may help...

Unless you yourself sign paperwork adding you as a co-signer or guarantor on any loan, lease, or similar, it won't affect your credit score, since you yourself did not authorize it.

The only exception I think would involve your daughter adding you as an authorized user on her credit card, which *might* put you on the hook for any outstanding balance (in which case you can check with the issuer and see what they consider to be terms of acceptance.)
