While it would be less confusing if each consumer had just one "true" credit score, that's not how credit works. There are hundreds of credit score models that can be used to calculate your score, depending on the lender's needs. Some models are tuned to provide more insight into your likelihood of making ontime payments for a credit card, while others evaluate your risk as a homeowner.
