Credit Karma is NOT----repeat NOT a credit reporting bureau, so whatever credit score shown here is not "official."  The purpose of this site is to provide information for people to learn how to build and maintain a good credit score.  The information used is just an example so you will have something to work with when trying the various financial tools provided here. Too many people are so clueless when it comes to credit and the purpose of Credit Karma is to try to change that situation by education.  Use what is provided here so you, too, can learn what to do, or not do to have a good credit score.

To get your real crdit score you have to go to the reporting agencies, transunion, etc. There are 3 main ones.

The only "real" score number that matters is your FICO score.  You can purchase your FICO score at www.myfico.com.  If you have a Discover card, they provide your FICO right on your statement.  Only other way to get it is to apply for credit.
