My credit score dropped 75 and 84 points in one month?
I opened an account with the local credit union in January and they did a hard inquiry. My score actually rose between January and February, then drops all of a sudden into March. No flags or suspicious activity, did this hard inquiry really affect me this much?

There may be many factors. Is your credit usage high with other cards? You may want to make sure it's under 5% of all your credit limit combine. Also hard inquires will affect your score but usually by 5-10 points only. Something else may have happen. Did you close any account recently?

No. Hard inquiries only cost about 7 points. Your likely culprit is credit utilization.
