Limitations on accounts in collections
I have several accounts in collections (mostly medical bills) from nearly 7 years ago...however, my credit report is claiming recent action on these accounts, when there has been none. Will this affect any statute of limitations (if there are any) and is it legal for creditors to use improper dates on their reporting?

It should not affect the sol; however, this little trick could affect the fall off date. Write a dispute letter asking your credit bureaus to check the validity of the collection accounts. They will in turn do an investigation and remove the accounts if they are reporting inaccurate information...
