The credit increase and how to request it depends on multiple factors.   If it is a secured card, you'll need to contact the vendor to see if they allow additional deposits for the increase.   If it is not, check your account online, many offer a link you can click to make an automatic account.   You should normally wait until the account has been in active use for 6 months.   Be aware that most requests can result in a hard pull of your credit by the vendor.  They'll probably want your current income information.
