Joint Home Loans
My girlfriend and I just bought a home together, both names on the loan. Looking at my credit score balances it shows the full amount of the loan and I assuming it shows the full amount on her report also. If it is showing the full amount on both of our reports, how does that affect our scores? It would basically be showing that we both owe more than what we actually do, or does the system know that we are both on the loan and don't owe for two loans. Hope that make since.
Thanks!

Your report should show the loan

As a JOINT account.  That indicates to lenders and CRA's that you are not totally responsible for the total amount and that there is another responsible party help to cover that debt.

Hope that helps.

Good Luck
