Since a Chapter 7 totals your credit for ten years, you are likely to have to wait until it drops off your crtedit score.  Mortgage lenders often look back at least ten years to see if there is a bankrujptcy on record.  I advise that, instead of listening to what others say, your best source of information on how credit works is in the articles on this site, which all should read.  Sure helped me a lot!
