Concerning credit scores it is best to get each card paid down to below 30% of the card's credit line. However, whether or not this is the best plan is another story. Sometimes it may be easier and better to pay off as many cards as you can first, then you will have those minimum payment amounts to go toward other cards, it also keeps the momentum going as you can see you are getting things accomplished. Another thing to think about is interest rates. If you have high interest rates vs. low or zero interest rates, of course you would apply your money to the highest interest cards first.
