Neither. It is better to have a credit cartd that you use at least once per month. Closing cards hurt your credit, not improve. The only reason to close a card is because you are getting a awful annual fee and they refuse to stop charging you. However, a card sitting with a $0 is almost just as bad. You need to just use the card when purchasing gas for your car once a month ($50 or so) and then when the statement comes pay it off in full, that is the best utilization for your card.
