I'm 69 & have about 10 credit cards not being used should I close them for a better score
does having a lot of credit cards hurt my credit score

Don't close!!

The total of the credit limits on those cards shows your available credit and the more, the better. Closing cards reduces the total and hurts your score..

The only reason to close any Credit Card would be to do away with a yearly Fee.
