First question is do you need a credit card? Secondly, if yes, don't apply for a store card/limited use card with high APR. Third, your score will drop with a new account. If you're making solid positive progress & you don't NEED a card I'd really suggest being patient & continue rebuilding.

Better to have a Visa or Mastercard.  Gas cards are used only at the few accepted companies and they charge high interest.
