If i have a credit card and the limit is 1000. Is it best to use only 30% of the limit?
I am trying to build my credit score to buy a home.

You should keep your utilization below thirty percent, less than ten percent would be better for scoring. With utilization it can change from month to month as you pay off or down your balances and your scores will fluctuate with that, so the good news is if you utilize more than appropriate for scoring if you pay it down or off the next time it reports your scores will go back up. For best scoring with FICO you should let at least one credit card report a small balance every month for maximum scoring for the month. Failure to let a credit card report any balance can ding you for "no revolving activity".
