Your impression isn't completely wrong, however it depends on scoring models. The medical collections to some scoring model might not have any negative impact (FICO 9 maybe?) some might have less impact (VantageScore3 maybe?), but to vast majority of scoring models out there? they do not distinguish one type of collection to another.
