Till what comes off? The balance or the account? If you pay a balance to zero, it should reflect the next time that the lender reports to the credit bureau. If you paid off an entire account and closed it, the length of time it remains will depend on if it was closed in negative standing or in positive standing. Negative accounts are removed 7 years from the time they became delinquent that led to there closure. Positive accounts will remain for at least 10 years from the closed date. NEVER try to remove accounts from your reports that were closed in good standing, doing so would damage your credit profile.
