What is the name of the company that made the inquiry? Was it a "hard inquiry" or a "soft inquiry". "Soft Inquiries" are often done on you even if you did not apply for credit with a company, they do "soft inquiries" to try to preapprove you for one of their products. If it was indeed a "hard inquiry" and you did not apply for credit with the company, then you can try to dispute it with the credit bureaus. Transunion, Equifax and Experian all have websites with instructions on how to dispute incorrrect info.
