I made 1 hard credit inquiry and my credit score dropped 41 points. Is that correct?

Too big dip fpr one enquiry

A hard enquiry generally won't drop your score more than 5-10 points. However, if you have had additional enquiries recently, then with this, you crossed a threshold, and hence the drop. If this was the only enquiry, then did you open an account for this? If yes, then that decreases your 'length of active credit' immediately, and this could be responsible for the drop.

In any case, as the other member said, it will vanish in a few months (unless you keep applying), so don't worry much.
