Helpful to 2 out of 2 people

Average length of open credit is approximately 15% of your credit score. So if the 2 accounts you closed shortened your average length of open credit, your scores may go down. http://www.creditfirm.net/education/length-of-credit

Mix of credit is another thing to consider. 10% of your credit score is how well you manage both installment and revolving accounts. If closing these 2 accounts eliminated all active installment/ or revolving accounts, the score may go down. http://www.creditfirm.net/education/credit-variance

Other than that, a status of closed does not hurt your credit.
