first go to www.annualcredittreport.com you can pull all 3 credit reports for free once every 366 days check it over and make sure everything is right then be sure to dispute any inaccuracies you see and by law they have to investigate and if its not acu=curate they have to remove it ALOT of people have inncorrect information on there reports and don't know it that leads to there score being lower then it should be.....Second if you have credit cards you want to get the credit utilization down to 30% to start....then 20%...so if you have a $500 limit you don't want more then $150 on the card unless its an absolute emergency like car or medical bills....but just try to pay it off as soon as possible....Third llimit how often you apply for credit each inquiry eats away at your score....ALWAYS PAY THE MINIMUM PAYMENT when the statement comes in missing even one payment can kill your scoree....lastly if its because of a negative mark - bankruptcy, collections after 7-10 years they will drop off automatically BUT start making the changes now so you can bonuce back some and when the time comes you will be in a mind set to keep going...best of luck
