Search for Dave Ramsey's site and learn how to do effective repayments.  Also, read the articles here so you can learn how credit really works, how the Statute of Limitations on Collections might help and how to negotiate a 'pay for delete' agreement which will help greatly.

DO NOT CALL AND ENTER ANY PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS OR AGREEMENTS!!!! You need to do a lot of reading on this subject before you proceed with anything. Calling the debt collectors to set up a payment plan would be the worst move you could make. You want to do reading on "pay for delete agreements" "statute of limitations to be sued for debt in your state" "credit reporting time period of 7 years" and many other credit topics as well. If you have the money on hand to take care of these debts, then you will try to get "pay for delete agreements" (this happens when you can pay in full at once). If you do not have the money to pay these off or will realistically have the money anytime soon, then you should just let these accounts be and let time runs its course to remove them.
